Consulting services

Since the fall of 2003, IQDHO has a consulting agroenvironmental Club. This club makes it possible to help the producers to apply the Agricultural Operations Regulation (AOR), to carry out a nutrient management plan (NMP) and a phosphorus assessment. Through its consulting services specialized on the matter, the agroenvironmental Club makes it possible to accompany the producers in ornamental horticulture who feel challenged by the stakes of fertilizer management, of reduction on the use of pesticides, of cultural methods for soil conservation and energy and of the protection of the rivers.

The advisor in agroenvironment, Mrs. Caroline Martineau, dta, agr., coordinates the activities of the Club and carries out part of the services in agroenvironment of which the realization of the NMP and phosphorus assessments. IQDHO’s technical advisors of obviously are very implied with the Club. In liaison with the interested producers, they take part to establish their agroenvironmental portrait, to help to lay down objectives (e.g. reduction of pesticides) and to accompany the growers to attain their objectives.
The documentalists of IQDHO are also made profitable to index the worldwide cultural methods favourable with durable agriculture and to transfer obtained information to the advisors and the members of the Institute.

A meeting of the agroenvironmental Club of IQDHO to discuss the agroenvironmental stakes between members is held annually. The participating growers present put forward their interests concerning an environmental awareness.
