What is HORTIDATA?
HORTIDATA is the data bank specialized in ornamental production that
the Quebec Institute for the development of ornamental horticulture
(IQDHO) develops since 1992. This data bank is unique. It contains more
than 31,000 references of technical articles which were read, selected
and indexed by specialists in ornamental horticulture in order to be
accessed quickly.
HORTIDATA gives you access within seconds to an impressive quantity
of technical and practical information on production, management and
marketing of ornamental plants in greenhouses and nurseries. It contains
innovative and avant-garde information, coming from private and public
sources.
The search for information can be carried out in three languages,
French, English and Spanish, using simple and technical key words. The
digitized texts of the articles remain in their original language.
A request gives access to three successive levels of information:
First level: list by titles of articles
Second level: bibliographical references and key words
Third level: digitized text of an article (PDF) when the
reproduction rights on the Internet were obtained*
*Royalties
For texts selected and digitized in the data bank, IQDHO proceeded at
the requests of reproduction rights on the Internet, in contacting the
presumed holders of the royalties (editors, associations, companies, and
authors) and thereafter having those rights according to received
information of its first contacts. Consequently, the digitized articles
available in HORTIDATA data bank are those for which the reproduction
rights were obtained or for which IQDHO believe in all good faith to
have obtained the rights. In the same way, the digitized copies of the
indexed texts whose holder of the rights is untraceable are not
accessible. If an error has slipped into the access to the digitized
texts, you are requested to warn us about it as soon as possible by
email.
